Schaltag for Landis+Gyr: Re-Engineering of Ripple Control Transmitters for Electricity Management

Ripple control transmitters are important command-and-control centres for comprehensive electricity management. The increasing requirements with respect to performance, reliability and EMV safety have led to various special constructions over the years, associated with high engineering costs and production costs and costly maintenance. Thanks to our high level of engineering competence, Schaltag has managed to obtain the tender to build new control cabinets:

  • Re-engineering for a uniform design across the entire series
  • More compact, multi-layer construction with standard components and assembly plates
  • Increased flexibility for order variants through modularisation of the construction for simple modifications and maintenance, as well as seamless approval for production
  • Folding and extendible assembly plates for excellent accessibility

Thanks to re-engineering, Schaltag has been able to reduce the production costs for the new control cabinets, in comparison with the previous generation, by around fifteen percent. It has also managed to significantly increase maintainability. What’s more, Schaltag procures and manages the spare parts storage for series production with order-related modifications.
